We have a new opportunity happening at MG. A company called PC Treasures is currently working with several of our Artists, including Torn, out of Rhode Island. They are putting their cd’s in dollar stores nationally, they are offering the artists a profit on the cd’s sold. I have just been notified that these cd’s will be sold in Target stores around the country starting in April 2005. Just think of what a great addition this is to your bios, being able to say that you have sold thousands of cd’s nationally is certainly something that the labels look for when signing artists! Here are the parameters: Submissions can be an individual or a group. You must have a finished cd in order to submit for this opportunity. Also, we must have submissions by Saturday 11/6, I know this is short notice, but that’s the deal.

Alexia,

Do you have any more details?

How many cds if selected would we have to provide? If they are in dollar stores do they cost only a dollar?

is there anything explaining distribution, royalties, etc

as always, thanks

Hey Ben,

You don't need to provide them with any cd's, they take care of duplication. Yes, the cd's are sold for a dollar in these stores. I don't have a contract explaining royalties etc, but they are very fair.

Also, to submit, you don't need to send anything in, you just need to send me an email saying that you are interested.

Thanks,

Alexia

Alexia

Is there going to be a blurb saying something like "As featured on Music Gorilla"?

We're discussing the possibility, but it looks like not. We're performing the service for the distribution company to find the bands, but it is the distribution company offering the opportunity. so.....

Just an FYI I can tell you what PC Treasures has done for Torn and what a great company they are to be involved with, HOWEVER I do not take submissions.   All submissions can go to Alexia or PC Treasures they make the decisions.  Thanks for all the emails.   Nate Torn vocals

Now maybe I'm lost, but how do you go from having your CD in the Dollar Store for only a $1.00 to Target where you could get $12.00?  Now is the submission for the Dollar Stores and/or Target?

Both, but Target will also be selling the cd's for a dollar.
