It seems that some of the submission instructions have been overlooked, so I have set up a checklist for you to go over before submitting:

 

♪ Is the song you’re submitting on your profile page at www.MusicGorilla.com?

♪ Have you attached the MP3?

♪ Is the song appropriate for the submission?

 

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

Here are the latest submissions. In order to submit for these projects, please email alexia@musicgorilla.com the title of the submission, the name of the song(s) you are submitting, Band/Artist name and attach the mp3(s) to the email. Please make sure that the music you are submitting is appropriate for the submission and that the song(s) are on MusicGorilla.com. If the song is not what the supervisor is asking for, it will not be submitted.

 

Due to the high profile nature of some of these submissions, it has become necessary for our music editor to screen certain submissions in order for the Music Supervisors to continue accepting material from Music Gorilla. Also, in certain instances there is a limit to the amount of material we can send, these submissions will also be screened. All screened submissions will be noted.

 

ONGOING - Newsletter Submissions:  We want to promote you! If you have news, please send it to us for possible inclusion in our newsletter. We love telling everyone about our artists accomplishments, send us your news and it may end up in the monthly newsletter that goes out to our entire email list.

SUBMISSION 1 – “Saint Simon” Feature   Deadline: 5/5/09 Limit – 3 songs per submission.
Director: Sila Agavale ("The Sinking Of Santa Isabel" - Actor, "Darkroom" - Actor, "Alligator Alley" - Actor). Producer: Deborah Mozer. Featuring Sila Agavale and Fernanda Kelley.

SYNOPSIS: In a city (NYC ) that doesn't care, amidst the gloom of looming tenement buildings, in a back alley that has never seen the sun, a young girl screams one last time before thick hands choke off the sound of her desperation. Chulo (Sila Agavale) has arms and legs and the power of speech, but he is more ferocious animal than human being, surviving solely through instinct. When he feels threatened, he kills; if he desires, he takes. And one morning he feels the desire and rapes a girl on her way to school. Fe (Fernanda Kelley)  is an 18 year old student. Intelligent and driven, she can be the statistical miracle that escapes the muck to find success. Except that the ghetto decides to pound its tight fist and crush all hope in one spasm of sexual brutality. But from that heinous act, a miracle. A child is born. Chulo witnesses the birth of a babe he knows to be his son. That common-but-miraculous occurrence turns Chulo human. He never knew feelings more complex than hunger and bestial arousal, but now, suddenly, life is more than just self-survival: there exists a responsibility to someone innocent, to something other than the self. Now there is a child and a mother.

Chulo tries to become the baby's guardian angel, helping Fe - who does not know that Chulo is her rapist - in any way he can. But Chulo has a reputation that he can't escape. He is the worst scumbag in the neighborhood. He is feared and he is hated. Fe, acknowledging Chulo's reputation, still has faith that a man can change, that something evil can become good. She loves the Chulo she knows, the human Chulo. So Fe and Chulo marry, to give the baby a father, and Chulo becomes a functioning member of society, with the hope that one day he might be a true husband to Fe. If Chulo and Fe really have something, he'd tell her what he did to her. And if Fe loves him, if Fe is the saintly person Chulo thinks she is, then she will forgive him. Chulo decides he must tell Fe the secret. Without forgiveness there can be no salvation. Can Fe forgive? And if she cannot, will the animal return?

SYNOPSIS: It's Samantha's senior year of high school. Her father is a traumatized maximum-security prison guard, her fed-up mother just ran off with a community college student, and her fifteen-year-old brother is an aspiring womanizer. Even so, Samantha was kinda hoping someone would notice when she picked up her hillbilly heroin habit.
SEEKING: Alt. Rock tunes and some left field quirky pop

 

SUBMISSION 3 – “Full Moon – The Series”– Online TV  - Deadline 4/20/09 – Limit 3 songs/artist

New online horror/thriller series is a cross between Tales From The Crypt and The Twilight Zone

SUBMISSION 4 – “Asher”– Indie Feature  - Deadline 4/20/09 – Limit 2 songs/artist

Low budget, dark comedy, indie film due to start shooting April 1st, and scheduled to be released early June 2009.  The film is directed and produced by Jeff Kopas (Dogasaur). 

SYNOPSIS: This is the story of a little person working as a janitor at a ski resort     when he finds a stray Husky; and his best friend wins a Yeti costume that our star uses to convince the local town folk that the creature is real.  It's been described as Juno meets The Big Lebowski meets The Royal Tenebaums.

SEEKING: Fun, alternative-rock, mid-and up-tempos only.

 

SCREENED - SUBMISSION 5 – “Gun Hill Road”– Indie Feature  - Deadline 4/20/09 – Limit 3 songs/artist

Directed by Rashaad Ernesto Green ("50 Shots", "The Can Collector").
SYNOPSIS: Gun Hill Road has a personal view of life in the Bronx looking at the cousin of the director and his personal journey and relationship with his gay son.
SEEKING: Music that brings out the street flavour of the Bronx. Latin Hip Hop (like Daddy Yankee, etc.) and conga drums (like Tito Puente solos). Latin solo guitar and piano with emotion.
