Hi All,

It seems that some of the submission instructions have been overlooked, so I have set up a checklist for you to go over before submitting:

 

♪ Is the song you’re submitting on your profile page at www.MusicGorilla.com?

♪ Have you attached the MP3?

♪ Is the song appropriate for the submission?

 

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

Here are the latest submissions. In order to submit for these projects, please email alexia@musicgorilla.com the title of the submission, the name of the song(s) you are submitting, Band/Artist name and attach the mp3(s) to the email. Please make sure that the music you are submitting is appropriate for the submission and that the song(s) are on MusicGorilla.com. If the song is not what the supervisor is asking for, it will not be submitted.

 

Due to the high profile nature of some of these submissions, it has become necessary for our music editor to screen certain submissions in order for the Music Supervisors to continue accepting material from Music Gorilla. Also, in certain instances there is a limit to the amount of material we can send, these submissions will also be screened. All screened submissions will be noted.

 

ONGOING - Newsletter Submissions:  We want to promote you! If you have news, please send it to us for possible inclusion in our newsletter. We love telling everyone about our artists accomplishments, send us your news and it may end up in the monthly newsletter that goes out to our entire email list.

Showcase Submissions:

Music Gorilla has confirmed our venue for next years showcases to take place during SXSW in Austin, TX. This means we can already begin accepting submissions! Here are some things you should know:

These showcases are INDEPENDENT of SXSW, in other words, they are NOT official showcases (not that it matters).

Each performer will receive written feedback from a MAJOR LABEL A&R rep

Past A&R reps have been with Virgin Records, Capitol Music Group, Sony, Epic and others.

The shows will take place March 18th – 22nd, 2009

Why wait? Submit now! Send an email to alexia@musicgorilla.com with your band/artist name, genre and where you are from. We will notify the selected artists by February 12th, 2009.

SUBMISSION 1 – “Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet” Feature   Deadline: 12/10/08 Limit – 2 songs per submission.

SYNOPSIS: Long Island, 1978: A young girl named Mary Mattock (Samantha Facchi ) gruesomely murders her family with a hatchet and is locked away for life in Long Island's notorious Kings Park Psychiatric Centre. 10 years pass and Mary escapes from the asylum, leaving a grizzly wake of bodies and blood. Gunned down by the police, Mary meets her own demise outside the sanitarium walls. This incident gave birth to the legend of Mary Hatchet's walking ghost and the mischievous night named in honour of her death, BLOOD NIGHT! Stemming from the real life Long Island legend of Mary Hatchet, "Blood Night" tells the tale of a group of teenagers enjoying their annual Blood Night festivities, when they come face to face with the reality of this haunting legend. One by one the teens begin to disappear and meet their fates. As the body count rises, so do the unanswered questions about their missing friends and the secrets of Mary's horrifying past. Is there more to this legend than the vengeful ghost of Mary Hatchet and if so who will survive to tell the terrifying tale?

SUBMISSION 2 – “Race Track” – Feature Deadline 12/11/08 – Limit 2 songs/artist

SYNOPSIS: "Racetrack" is a story about a professional gambler, Bill McKirch, whose brother, a track jockey, is killed in a horse race set up by the Mafia...namely Jake Sconato. Bill exacts the ultimate revenge against the mobster whose greed caused his brother's death. In Bill's attempt to kill Jake, he himself takes a bullet to the side of his face. He manages to drive himself to his best friend's house, track vet, Fred Noble. Fred nurses Bill back to recovery enough to get Bill out of the country and to a doctor that can reconstruct his face. Bill has plastic surgery on his face, now not recognizable and comes back to Phoenix, Arizona for revenge. He gets a job with Jake placing bets and making money for the mob. While working for Jake, he seeks his revenge by plotting an explosive sting against the family business. Bill, with the help of his track friends, manages to set Jake up to be killed by his own mob family. Bill sets up a corrupt betting scheme to look like Jake has stolen money from the family by placing illegal bets through the bookie's offices across the country. What Bill did not expect was for Jake to find out his true identity. "Racetrack" is a strong action and fever pitch emotional film that propels you to a nail-biting conclusion of this high stakes gambler.

SCREENED - SUBMISSION 3 – “Freefight X”– TV Pilot - Deadline 12/10/08 – Limit 2 songs/artist

SYNOPSIS: Reality TV pilot follows Maurepaz 'Mo' Auguste, aka Mambo Kid. Auguste, born and raised in Newark, NJ after the famous "Newark Riots," himself a former member of the infamous Bloods gang, changed his life around after a near fatal accident that nearly cost him his life. He was forced to see the world as a new and focused his abilities in more positive solutions. He spends his time training & rehabilitating young martial arts fighters. He also has a non profit organization called The Warrior House Foundation. His goal is to work with troubled teens & help motivate them to stay off the streets, in school & out of gangs. By re-directing their anger into a more productive positive way through martial arts he has been very successful in rehabilitating many very troubled youths & therefore saving their lives. The film follows his quest.
